Sunflower Sea Pottery Necklace
Sea pottery begins its journey as refuse that was broken and discarded into the sea. The pottery pieces are swept and carried as powerful elements of sand, tide, water and weather transform it into an interesting find waiting to be discovered. This unique piece of sea pottery is from the east coast of Scotland. I knew how I wanted to set this piece the first time I saw it! The sunflowers were painted on the brick textured backplate with thinned down slip (12 layer!) to create a graffiti affect. Sterling silver; coral
